This research published by the Developmental Medicine and Child Neurology (DMCN) journal estimates the birth prevalence of cerebral palsy after assisted reproductive technology (ART) and compares the clinical outcomes of children with cerebral palsy after assisted reproductive technology or natural conception. Assisted reproductive technology (ART) is the in vitro handling of human oocytes and sperm or embryos to establish a pregnancy. ART is reported to double the risk of cerebral palsy.
