This resource published in the Paediatrics and Child Health journal, describes the timing and causes of PNN-CP and examines how prevention strategies align with cause-specific trends in prevalence, providing insights to inform future targeted prevention efforts.

Children with post-neonatally acquired (PNN) cerebral palsy (CP) have an identified cause for their brain injury, such as a cerebrovascular accident or head injury. However, the full causal pathway is often complex, involving genetic, biological, and environmental factors. Most children with PNN-CP acquire their injury before 12 months of age.
