This research published by the Developmental Medicine and Child Neurology (DMCN) journal, aims to assess the prevalence and incidence of osteoporosis, osteopenia, and fragility fractures in adults with CP, while also identifying key clinical risk factors such as GMFCS level, mobility status, CP subtype, and factors like anticonvulsant use, malnutrition, and vitamin D levels.

Osteoporosis and fractures are significant medical concerns for children and adolescents with CP, with notable differences from idiopathic osteoporosis in the general population, including early onset and multiple contributing risk factors.
