This resource from the Hudson Institute of Medical Research journal, examines the key factors linked to low bone density in adults with CP. Findings show that reduced bone density is already evident in early childhood, although body composition scans indicate that meaningful gains can still be achieved during puberty.

Many people do not realise that cerebral palsy (CP) is associated with lifelong risks from reduced bone density, which can lead to brittle bones. Early interventions that supported better bone health included nutrition-focused strategies, mobility-enhancing therapies and selected medications.
