This research published by the Developmental Medicine and Child Neurology (DMCN) journal, investigates patterns of participation frequency and the child and family factors that predict community participation in young children with cerebral palsy.

Participation is a multifaceted construct influenced by a child's personal and family characteristics. In childhood, it provides an avenue for play, skill development, meaningful relationships, and a sense of belonging. Community participation in young children is particularly important for building relationships beyond the family.
