This study published in the Disability and Rehabilitation journal, explores how adults with cerebral palsy confront and cope with ableism in these interactions.

Prejudice and discrimination against people with disabilities—based on the assumed superiority of non-disabled people and their ways of doing things, known as ableism—is deeply embedded in society. Evidence shows that attitudes towards people with cerebral palsy are often more negative than for many other types of impairments.
