This research from the Developmental Medicine and Child Neurology (DMCN) journal, highlights the extent of sleep problems in children with cerebral palsy and their families, and underscores the importance of routinely assessing sleep in paediatric healthcare.

Sleep is essential for children’s health and development, yet children with cerebral palsy (CP) are at increased risk of sleep difficulties compared to their typically developing peers. These challenges can include night waking, pain, fatigue, and breathing issues, and may also affect parental sleep and overall family wellbeing. Despite this, sleep is often overlooked in routine care.
