This resource developed by the Murdoch Children's Research Institute presents the key findings from a clinical trial.
Children with cerebral palsy are at risk of developing tightness in the wrist and hand muscles, which can lead to reduced movement. This may limit hand use in daily activities and make caregiving tasks more difficult. Wrist–hand orthoses (splints) are commonly prescribed for night-time use, based on the assumption that prolonged stretch reduces muscle tightness and improves passive wrist movement, though evidence has been limited.
